1. Description
Name of the organisation | Indiegogo |
Typology | Crowdfunding |
Description | Indiegogo ins an international crowdfunding Plattform created in 2008, enabling people to solicit funds for an idea, charity, or startup. The site runs on a rewards-based system. Contributors donate and receive a gift, rather than an equity stake in the company. However following changes in Security and Exchange commission rules earlier in 2016, Indiegog has partnered with Micro Ventures to offer equity-based campaigns, allowing unaccredited investors to participate with equity stakes. The main asset comparing to its competitor Kickstarter is that Indiegogo disburses the funds immediately, when the contribution are collected through the user’s PayPal accounts. |
